I'm 22...almost 23.
I started watching the Simpsons when I was maybe 6 years old and watched it religiously until I turned 16...then for another year when I turned 17 it was on it's death rattle for me in my life. By that time Futurama and Family Guy were already on air. Family guy WAS better due to it's refreshing style of comedy but I don't watch any T.V. anymore. It really is a *sweet* and utter waste of time. After the Simpsons though, I got heavy into reality shows like Real World and pretty much anything on MTV and VH1....although If I sit down and watch some I'm sure I'd enjoy it but it's all a waste of time at the end of the day. I don't know why but getting older you have more things to achieve and less time to WANT to watch T.v.
That's my take on it.
dude, i totally understand, as you get older, you dont really make time for Tv, more things come up and you dont have time to watch your favourite TV. Simpsons itself is getting old and show like Family Guy do take over but some reason (for me anyways), simpsons will still be great to us.
I think for maybe most animators, Simpsons have "in some werid way" inspired them (but of course, i could be totolly wrong lol :P)

Good job on the iPhone Commercial, and congrats on Daily 4th!
On to my own opinions about The Simpsons: I own every season boxed set out, and also the movie. The show really gets great around the 3rd season, and continues that way up until...oh, about the 10th season. But listen carefully. Every episode after that season is complete and utter crap. The plots are terrible and over the top, and that's something that superb animation can not make up for. All my favorite episodes, and obviously, the best ones, fall in between seasons 1-10. Also, the movie had its moments, and was infinitely better than any new episode being produced, while still not quite up to par with the classic episodes.
Anyways, to sum up, if you're a fan of The Simpsons, don't bother with the new episodes. Get the boxed sets, because there are very few reruns of the good episodes nowadays, and it's definitely worth it.
